What the Heart of Ghana Carries
A phrase people say without thinking, and a drawing that took months to reduce.
Starting with a phrase
Ghanaians at home and abroad describe home as something carried rather than left behind. It is said about a city, a region, a market, a coastline and a family house alike.
Our job was to give that phrase a form that does not flatten it into a souvenir.
Reduction
The first drawings had too much of everything: too many roads, too much anatomical detail, too much explanation.
Each revision removed a layer. What survived was structure — the shape of convergence, and the thickening at the centre where the city concentrates.
Printing it so it can be felt
Fine linework needs a print process that holds detail. The final print treatment will be confirmed after physical production approval.
The intention is tactile rather than decorative: the graphic should reward a second look and a hand on the fabric.
